FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes!

The articles are on the website (under 'Learn To Knit'). They are available to everyone, completely free of charge.

Is the learning method really free?

Every pattern has the usual difficulties ('beginner', 'intermediate' and 'advanced'), but also the 'Yes, You Can Knit' difficulties.

The articles give you an indication what you can make with what you have just learnt. Once you have learnt cast on, knit, purl and bind off, the articles will tell you what 'Yes, You Can Knit' difficulty you are at.

How do I know which patterns I can make?

The very beginning of every knitter’s journey is learning the basics: cast on, knit and bind off. This is difficulty 0 (zero). It indicates you can knit.
Next the difficulty will go up when a significant technique is learnt. For example: once you know how to purl, you can knit the stockinette stitch, which is a very widely used stitch. You have arrived at ‘Yes, You Can Knit’ difficulty 1.
In short, each difficulty comes with its own, new technique for you to learn and will be accompanied by several patterns you should now feel comfortable with.

How do the 'Yes, You Can Knit' difficulty levels work?

No, unfortunately you cannot. Because the patterns are downloadable PDF files and not physical items, there is no way to tell if you have deleted the pattern.
If you have questions about any of the patterns, please contact me. I am happy to provide more detailed information to help you making the right choice.

Can I return the pattern(s) I have purchased?

Void Cat Designs was set up with the main aim of helping people who are learning to knit or knit better. For that reason there are various ways you can contact me. You can call or email me, use the contact form on the website, send me a message via Instagram or Facebook or join the (private!) Facebook group. The links to phone, email, Instagram and Facebook are at the bottom of each page on the website. For email help, please send your email to help@voidcatdesigns.co.uk.

I need help with something. What do I do?

It will be very soon. At the time of writing this there are no workshops organised yet, but the workshops will be a large part of what I do.
If you are interested in workshops, please email me on hello@voidcatdesigns.co.uk and tell me where you are located and if you would like to bring friends. I will take that information into account once the workshops start.

I prefer to learn in person. Is that possible?

No, not at the moment.

Of course, once the workshops start, the materials will be included, but I do not currently sell these separately in my shop.

Do you sell knitting materials, such as needles, yarn, etc.?

I create the patterns myself.

This is why it takes some time before I am able to add new patterns to the shop. I have to design, make and write them. And each pattern comes with its own supporting article, which is hidden from regular visitors to the website.

The fact I create all of the patterns myself is also the reason there is a copyright statement at the bottom of each pattern.

Where do you get your patterns from?
